Aiyana Pettway has spent more than seven years immersed in video editing — first developing her own craft, then gradually shifting focus toward helping others develop theirs. What started as personal practice became a teaching approach, and that approach became FramesMethod LLC.
The name reflects the philosophy. Editing is a method — a structured way of thinking about footage, time, and story. Frames are the raw material. The method is what you apply to them. That distinction matters in how every lesson is designed.
Aiyana works exclusively online, one-on-one with students. She's based in Winchester, California, but sessions happen remotely so geography doesn't limit who can learn. The format is deliberately personal — no group classes, no prerecorded modules, no generic curriculum.
Her approach to teaching is patient and practical. She's spent enough time watching people learn editing to understand where the real confusion tends to happen — and it's rarely the tools themselves. More often, it's the reasoning behind the decisions. That's where lessons spend most of their time.
